Help us beta-test Stabile

We are looking for a few solid beta testers, to help us test our Open Source infrastructure software Stabile.
Whether you’re interested in repatriating your infrastructure, in edge computing, in virtualization or microservices on bare metal, here’s your chance to geek out and help bring a new Open Source product to market.

In short, Stabile Cloud is an IaaS offering with functionality similar to other offerings like AWS EC2 or Azure IaaS. Contrary to these, you can download and install the software that runs Stabile Cloud on your own hardware. Another distinguishing feature of Stabile and Stabile Cloud, is a new approach to building virtual servers and services that are tightly integrated with Stabile and provide a seamless installation and management experience.

We are primarily looking for people who run and manage servers on a daily basis, have unused server hardware available, and have the time to try out and test a simple alternative to VMware or to running servers and containers in AWS, Azure, etc.
Stabile may actually be installed on a desktop or a laptop for development and test purposes, so hobbyists are also very much welcome to join.

If you don’t have hardware available for installing Stabile, you can still help us, by testing Stabile on our hardware – Stabile Cloud is simply Stabile running on our hardware.

Test Stabile on Your Own Hardware

Here’s what we expect from you:

  • Install Stabile on your own hardware, preferably one or more available servers with plenty of storage and memory
  • Configure and use a few test, development or production servers for 2 months starting August 2021
  • Provide us with feedback at the end of September

In return we will give you:

  • Support and help both with Stabile and with running your servers on Stabile for 2 months
  • A commercial license, valid for a year for running Stabile on 64 physical CPU cores in a commercial setting.

Test Stabile on Our Hardware

If you do not have hardware available for installing Stabile, you can help us test Stabile on our hardware, by trying out Stabile Cloud, which is simply our own installation of Stabile.

Here’s what we expect from you:

  • Configure and use a few test, development or production servers for 2 months starting August 2021
  • Provide us with feedback at the end of September

In return we will give you:

  • Support and help both with Stabile and with running your servers in Stabile Cloud for 2 months
  • A promo-code, valid for a year for running up to 5 VM’s (roughly equivalent to 5 m4.large AWS EC2 instances) in Stabile Cloud

How and When to Join

The only prerequisite for joining our beta-program is that you run and use virtual servers on a daily basis. You should know and of course be interested in server infrastructure, and be willing to put a bit of time into reporting back and helping us track down bugs. Reporting and bug tracking is done using our ticket system.

We are initially looking for 10 dedicated beta-testers. We expect testing to begin early August, 2021 and run through September. The beta-tester who helps us squash the juiciest bug (as decided by us), wins a bottle of rum. And may we add – not just any rum, but a bottle of Ron Botran Rare Blend from the beautiful country of Guatemala.

If this sounds interesting to you, and you have the time to help out, fill out the form below.
